The theme of World Health Day

Each year, World Health Day takes place on April 7 to mark the beginning of the World Health Organization.

This year, the main theme of the day was food safety, a current theme, very important internationally. Strengthening security systems plays a fundamental role in the context of global food supply.

The information and figures made public about health problems caused by eating are disturbing and so, this day aimed at encouraging efforts to improve food security through all stages, until reaching our plates.

According to statistics, more than 200 diseases are transmitted through food, some resulting in death and more than 2 million people die annually due to food produced in unsanitary conditions.

The advice provided by WHO include maintaining cleanliness, hygiene being a golden rule, "the separation of the raw food from the cooked one", "cooking food very well", "keeping food at safe temperatures" and "use of safe water sources and raw material ".
