Benefits of seasonal fruit

There are a variety of seasonal fruits that are delicious, and at the same time, have health benefits.

The list includes many fruits such as cherries, plums, nectarines, strawberries, cherries and currants.

Peaches, related to other kernel fruits such as apricots, almonds, plums and cherries are rich in vitamin A, but also in sugar and water. They can be used for their laxative properties, helping in the normalization of intestinal transit and stimulating gastric juices. These fruits are a natural source of healthy carbohydrates, are low in calories and thus contribute to a balanced diet. Peaches proved their usefulness in anemia, hypertension, gastritis, acidosis, bronchitis and are thought to help prevent cancer due to the high content of vitamin A.

Nectarines are a source of dietary fiber, vitamin A, C, Copper and antioxidants. They have a low caloric content and the best form for consumption is raw.  Vitamin C helps in maintaining a healthy immune system and antioxidants protect the skin from the sun.

Plums are also a natural source of multivitamins, providing the necessary intake of vitamins A, B and C, manganese, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and iron. They contain lutein and zeaxanthin, two antioxidants with important role in protecting eyesight.

Other seasonal fruits are strawberries, useful in removing toxins and indicated in hepatic insufficiency and disorders of bile due to the content of vitamin K. Cherries are an ally of health due to components such as calcium, magnesium, iron and vitamins A and B.
